New York Times bestselling author Greg Bear who has won multiple awards
has done it again. Quantico, set in the near-future, is thriller that
you cannot
put down. You will have to make yourself leave it to sleep or work.
Even after
you finish it will keep your mind racing -- thinking something like this
could really happen:
It's the early 21st Century. Terrorism has has become a way of life all
over the
world. The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem has been destroyed, paving the way for the Third Temple of Jewish prophesy. Thousands
have died in another major attack on the United States and new weapons
are
being spawned in Government labs and remote basements. No one feels
safe.
FBI agents are up against an autistic but brilliant homegrown terrorist
and former American patriot. He has developed a surprise biological weapon based on, of all things, Mad Cow disease. Infected victims quickly lose their memory, creating the potential for global chaos and horror. Agents play cat and mouse around the world, from
small vinyards to a final conflict in the Middle East.
The appeal of this book is that much of what happens could happen. Almost certainly to be made into a film, Quantico is part super-thriller and part si-fi and it will stay with you long after you have closed the cover.
The book is available in hardcover (ISBN13: 978-1-59315-445-5) and is published by Vanguard Press.
