A Preview of the Expedition's Discovery

These striking petroglyphs do not appear to be ligatures but their imagery is still strong. We know of only two such images ever found in the area. The other one was photographed during ViewZone's Expedition 98 (below).

These two petroglyphs have been nicknamed, "The Starmen," by local guides. It may be that these are actually representations of the Sun, an early symbol of the power and life sustaining properties of the Creator, or the Hebrew deity, EL. In Egypt, this deity was called RA.

We repeatedly had stories told to us by the local residents of remote petroglyphs that were human-like, but depicted "as if wearing a spacesuit with antennae..." This is likely how these strange looking figures got their names.

A pecked figure with an insect-like head and horns is depicted holding a long staff in its left arm. This photograph was taken in a cave with the flash of the camera for lighting. The exact meaning of these rare figures is unknown but they do share some similarities with certain kachinas of the Hopi, and face masks of present day Zuni Indians. Despite our ability to translate the script, the nagging question persists: who is this supposed to represent?
